In 12 second half minutes Andy Tod bagged a hat trick as the Pars polished off their 2004 Dutch tour with an emphatic win over Vogido. The Dutch part timers from the amateur league division three last faced professional opposition two years ago when they lost 3-0 to Roda JC.

In a very warm and sunny Enschede, Dunfermline took the lead through Gary Dempsey in the 11th minute when the Irishman shot high into the net from 25 yards.

The home fans were elated when seven minutes later their side got an equaliser. A mistake in the centre of defence let centre forward Tom Nieboer in for a shot on target. The ball spilled out of Derek Stillie`s hands and secondary school teacher, Daan Akkerman had an easy job in netting the follow up.

The Pars regained the lead two minutes later when following Richie Byrne`s pass, Noel Hunt squared for Billy Mehmet to score. Timeout was called midway through both halves for the players to take on liquid.

The third goal came in 35 minutes, when Dempsey scored with a low shot. In the remaining ten minutes of the half, Hunt, Nicholson and Mehmet have all had shots on target buty the score remained 3-1 at half time.

The Pars carried on where they left off in the second half, and in 69 minutes a fine Donnelly delivery from the left was headed home by substitute striker, Andy Tod. Three minutes later and Tod got his second as he pounced to clinically convert a Dempsey shot which had been saved by the keeper.

Second half drinks interlude

In the 81st minute, substitute Derek Lyle crossed and Toddy was once again on the end to head into the net. Finally, with five minutes remaining, Lyle was brought down in the box by the keeper. Donnelly`s spot kick was saved by the keeper, but the rebound fell nicely for Lyle to rifle in their seventh.
